    • Kirtan is a form of Indian call-and-response devotional singing quickly gaining popularity in the West. We sing mantras (sound vibrations) in the ancient, sacred language of Sanskrit. The repetition of these mantras bring one to deep stillness, bliss, and to a profound sense of oneness with All. It is soulful and peace evoking, yet energetic and rousing. Feel free to bring drums, percussion, and musical instruments to join the joyful noise!

    Robin Renee is a performing songwriter and a widely published freelance writer. Her latest CD is All Six Senses. She leads chanting events (vocals, guitar, harmonium, and percussion) throughout the Mid Atlantic region and has shared the stage with some of the West's best loved kirtan singers, including Krishna Das and Dave Stringer. She is the founder of Kirtan-o-Rama! an online community of those interested in attending and/or creating gatherings for kirtan chanting and other similar spiritual pratices. Renee seeks to merge mantra and the mystical experience in all her work.
